Encuentro de músicas de raíz

With great excitement, we announce the Encuentros we will celebrate throughout 2025! It will be a different year, full of new opportunities to experiment, renew energies, and explore smaller, more intimate formats.

For years, we have been organizing a large Encuentro, where more and more musical cultures have joined, and the number of participants has continued to grow. Creating an Encuentro with so many synergies is a huge effort, so this year we will take a break from the big Encuentro to focus on the new challenges that will come in future editions.

Although we won’t have a large Encuentro, we have three events planned to continue sharing and learning about traditional music:

From April 30 to May 4, the Petit Encuentro Ibèric returns (Save the dates, it’s coming soon!), where we will continue gathering for dances, percussion, and songs from the Iberian Peninsula. A classic that cannot be missed.

From August 15 to 19, the entire Son de Madera family will land in Pontós, and the Veracruz tradition of son jarocho will fill every corner of the Convent. It will be a unique opportunity to learn directly from one of the leading bands of this music, who have popularized it around the world.

And from August 21 to 26, a new and experimental Encuentro, where we will delve into the essence of traditional music. We will explore finding a common language between different musical traditions, play with recreating and researching what happens when we make music as a group and without filters.

We are working to launch a new website with all the details at 17th of February. Registration for the new 2025 courses will open on March 1 at 10 a.m.
