Iberian ensamble
Carles Denia (Gandia, 1971) has surprises by his expressive and musical quality. Coming from a jazz background, he has renewed the various formulas of Mediterranean music. He studied at the Jazz Department of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (Netherlands) and has toured half the world with various formations.
Singer, composer, guitarist, and producer, he unapologetically deploys his rich musical universe, the result of numerous influences (especially traditional music) from which, at the same time, he distances himself to create his own unmistakable style.
His albums: Tan alta com va la lluna, El paradís de les paraules and L´home insomne have won various awards such as the Ovidi Montllor award in 2009, the Altavoz-Frontera award in 2010, best album of the year 2011 from Revista Sons and best Record of the Year and Best Arrangements at the 2011 Ovidi Montllor Awards, among others. In addition, he participates in several international projects with which he travels to stages around the world such as being the leading voice of Coetus, Iberian percussion orchestra. He is also actively dedicated to flamenco singing and the Valencian “Cant d’Estil”.
