Maider Martineau

Multi-instrumentalist, singer and teacher from the Basque Country, Maider Martineau specializes in trikitixa (Basque diatonic accordion), pandero and alboka. Her artistic practice connects dance music, movement and sonic exploration, integrating tradition and experimentation.

Trained in various European and North American contexts, she expands her language toward collective creation and choral direction.

After her period in Quebec, where she created the duo TokaTaNoka, she returned to the Basque Country to promote projects such as Adar, Otxo, Flipluf and Bahez, and to participate in collective ensembles such as Albosax, Bilaka and Dama, always maintaining the link between roots and contemporaneity.
