In this course we will explore the repertoires, musical languages and ornamentations of various wind instruments from the Iberian Peninsula.
We will analyse how organological differences between flutes, bagpipes, shawms or albokas determine the available technical resources, and how these can be transferred to other instruments. We will work on fingerings, articulations, breathing techniques and ornamentation, understanding each instrument as the result of a specific cultural context.
The aim is to broaden the performer’s sonic awareness, placing different traditions in dialogue and fostering a transversal perspective on Iberian musical heritage.
