The Petit Encuentro Ibèric

The Petit Encuentro Ibèric is a return to our origins: to the origins of music where voice, dance, and percussion have been the primal musical expression of humanity. In the origins of Encuentros and Coetus: where all the songs we played were based on percussion and voice. And we return to the original venue, the convent of Pontós!

We call it Petit Encuentro because we also like to be few and share from a more intimate and familiar place.

Ibèric because we carry this music within us, it excites us, and we want to continue knowing it and sharing it far and wide.

Voice, percussion, and dance are perhaps the shortest path for music to penetrate the soul and body and shake us deeply. They remind us of where we come from, with joy and depth.

It will be a few days to share music in our lives and life in our music through some tunes and the immersive experience that characterizes Encuentros.

On the last night, coinciding with Midsummer Eve, we will have a final concert and Iberian gathering until the sun rises.

Come to sing, to play, to dance all night long, and when morning comes We will start again!

Petit Encuentro Levels

In the percussion workshop, there will be two levels, initiation, and intermediate. Sign up for the one that suits you best.

INITIATION: I have never played percussion or have played something but never traditional percussion instruments from the Iberian Peninsula.

INTERMEDIATE: I know Iberian rhythms but I don’t regularly play percussion or play it for fun. If I am a professional musician but I don’t know Iberian rhythms, this would be my place as well.

Both in singing and dancing, all levels are welcome.
